Noah's Flood ++++

This pre-cruise reading was provided by the expedition ofc prior to our circumnavigation of the Black Sea. The two scientist/authors searched much archival information in their search for the time and reason for the flood as portrayed in the biblical story of Noah. It seems they found a very plausible explanation for the fable. The book left little doubt about the search methods; the conclusions are always up for scrutiny but I feel they made a sufficient case for a practical explanation for the flood to have occured in the Black Sea at the Bosporous entrance from the Mediterranean. Written well, I learned a lot about a part of the world previously not thought about.

Books I'm Reading

  • Bones, Rocks and Stars by Chris Turney
  • Kick Ass by Carl Hiaasen
  • Life by Richard Fortey
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, a bowl of whipped cream in the other, my 1935 Pooh Bear and a good book tucked under my arms, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"
